Ferrari 125 S

HD-car Wallpapers is the no:1 source of Car wallpapers.

The first Ferrari, the 125 S (known as the 125 or 125 Sports), had a short but intense life. In fact, the model was only used in Ferrari’s first year in business, 1947. Just three were built and they took part in 12 races (total 14 starts), clocking up six wins, two seconds and one fifth position.

Pininfarina Honors Late Company Boss with Ferrari 458 Spider-Based Sergio Barchetta

Famous Italian design house Pininfarina is paying tribute to its former chairman, Sergio Pininfarina, who passed away last July, with a new concept car that bears his name and which it says, "renews the spirit and values" obtained under his leadership "projecting them into the future".

The Pinifarina Sergio is a barchetta-style concept study built on top of the Ferrari 458 Spider underpinnings, with both the wheelbase and the tracks remaining intact.

Placed behind the driver in a mid-rear-position, is the 458 Spider's 562hp (570PS) 4.5-liter V8 coupled to a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox that directs power to the rear axle.

To compensate for the loss of the windshield, Pininfarina's designers inserted a wing in the front bumper to improve aerodynamics, while a roll-bar with a fixed spoiler protects occupants and increases the down force on the rear axle.

Pininfarina says the body's torsion stiffness exceeds that of the original spider, thanks to the reduction in the size of the doors, which now rotate in a 45-degree angle, and due to weight savings of about 150 kg (331 pounds) over the Ferrari model.

The Italian coach-builder quotes a zero to 100km/h (62mph) sprint time of under 3.4 seconds, and a top speed of around 320km/h (199mph).

It’s worth noting that Pininfarina states that it places the Sergio "firmly in the tradition of the great Pininfarina one-offs specifically designed for "special" clients, which makes it a real car, not just a show car". What this means, is that if someone is interested, Pininfarina can build the car.

Allow Us to Introduce You to Ferrari LaFerrari

Rarely have we seen so much hype build around an upcoming car. After countless speculative renderings and teasers, guesses regarding its technical specifications and its name, it's finally here –LaFerrari, the "Enzo successor", which has just made its debut in Geneva. That basically means "the Ferrari" so with a name like that you expect it to be great.

You also expect it to have a high-revving V12 engine, which it does, as well as a much talked-about electric motor to provide an extra bit of shove and prove that Ferrari cares about the environment – this car is a hybrid, which features a HY-KERS system (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), charging the batteries (which we'll get to later on) through regenerative braking or by using the engine.

The engine, which displaces 6262cc (6.3-liters) has a peak power output of 800PS (789hp), which arrives at 9,000 rpm, just 250 rpm shy of the big V12's redline. The aforementioned electric motor adds an extra 160HP (163PS), pushing the car's total power figure to 950HP (963PS), and peak torque over 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) when both powerplants are working in tandem.

LaFerrari can sprint from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under three seconds and 0-300 km/h (0-186 mph) in 15 seconds, before topping out at 350 km/h (217 mph) – just a little bit slower than the other eye-catching Italian supercar present at the show, the Lamborghini Veneno.

We previously mentioned battery pack, which weighs 62 kg and is mounted in the center of the car so as not to negatively affect its center of gravity and weight distribution, which is rear-biased (41% front and 59% rear). Still, even with the total weight of the hybrid system, which comes in at 140 kg (308 lbs), the car is still a featherweight, tipping the scales at just 1,255 kg (2,767 lbs).

Design-wise, there are really no surprises, and LaFerrari is a well-proportioned and handsome machine. Sadly, as with the Enzo, these cars will only be made in their hundreds (499 in this case), so chances are you'll never see one on the street.

If you want to be sure you do get to see one, all you can do is start saving up, because the car costs €1.3 (£1.11 / $1.69) million.

Ferrari Teases F150 with Lousy Shot, Confirms Geneva Motor Show Debut

When it comes to Ferrari and new cars, it's all about its select clientele and not the press or fans of the brand. The Maranello-based carmaker has already shown the new F150-codenamed successor to the Enzo to potential owners, but for the rest of the world, all we get is this crude shot that looks like a photo taken with a poor camera phone from the past decade.

Along with this single image of the Prancing Horse logo, Ferrari also confirmed what we already knew from other sources, that the limited edition special series will receive its public premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show on Tuesday, March 5.

What we learned about Maranello's hypercar after details from a private viewing were leaked online is that it will feature hybrid powerplant pairing a V12 engine red-lining at 9,200 rpm to an electric motor for a combined system output of 950-horses, and that it will tip the scales at 1,270kg (2,800 pounds), with pre-tax prices starting from around €1 million (US$1.31 million at today's currency rates).

Watch a Ferrari 458 Spider Stalk a McLaren P1 Hypercar in Traffic

After watching this video, we can’t but feel for the McLaren engineers trying to do their work testing or simply driving the P1 under normal conditions and having to deal with all the (justified) attention that comes along with the job.
On the other hand, we're also grateful for supercar-spotter and YouTube channel owner Shmee150 and his friend in a deliciously sounding Ferrari 458 Spider for tracking down and filming the pre-production P1, without making any inherently dangerous moves in the process (or at least none that we saw in this video).

"We were out for a drive today in a brand new Ferrari 458 Spider and stumbled into a McLaren P1, with the new 903hp engine and electric motors as announced this morning," Shmee150 told CarScoop in an email. "It looked like a perspective buyer was out for a test drive, but great to hear the sound of the car and some clips out on the roads in the UK."

Earlier today, McLaren spilled the beans on the P1's hybrid powertrain revealing that the car features a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 petrol engine and an electric motor delivering a combined system output of 903HP (916PS) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque.
